Admission 2025-26

Drishti Suresh Sumad

Myself, Drishti Suresh Sumad, a final year student, from Department of Communication and Media Studies of ITM SLS Baroda university, Baroda.

My time at university has been filled with learning opportunities, both in the classroom and in the field. As a mass communication student, all the necessary tools are available, and the best part is the faculty, who not only encourages you to pursue your dreams but also shares their real-life experiences, connects us with people with real-world experience, helps us expand our networks, and introduces us to new people through industrial visits.

Here, a single idea is transformed into a narrative, offering a person the chance to transform a simple thought into a masterpiece. Early starts, like internships and projects, are always valued. It has assisted me in moulding myself as a person in the workplace. Being a student of journalism does not just cover speaking; it also improves one’s ability to write, perform on the ground, and develop one’s personality through personality studies and soft skills.

Overall, the campus is covered in a verdant forest that transports you to a serene and tranquil setting. Various clubs have been established, which have also drawn me to other activities and maintained the participative aspect. It has always been fantastic to take part in and relish every minute at ITM SLS Baroda University, whether it is in sports or tech events.

Sujal Mishra

My name is Sujal Mishra, and I am a first-semester student from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at ITM SLS Baroda University. From the very beginning of my journey here, I have been inspired by the learning environment, creative exposure, and encouragement to explore my potential both academically and personally.

As a student of mass communication, I believe in learning through experience  and the university has provided me with several opportunities to do just that. I proudly secured a position among the top five contestants in the Fashion Walk, which helped me gain confidence and stage presence. Performing in NukkadNatak allowed me to overcome my fear of public speaking, while my participation in Mime Acts taught me the importance of nonverbal communication and expressive storytelling. I also took part in Sports Day, which helped me develop discipline and sportsmanship.

I also had the opportunity to perform in a KaviSammelan, where I presented my own poem in front of a large audience. This experience helped me explore my creative writing skills and boosted my confidence in performing live, combining emotion, rhythm, and expression to connect with listeners.

In addition to these activities, I have worked in two short films that have enhanced my creative and technical understanding of the media industry. I acted in Scheduled Mail, and in One Click, Last Click, I contributed both as an actor and as an assistant director.
