The Department of Applied Chemistry offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in applied chemistry. The undergraduate programs include a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Applied Chemistry (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Industrial Chemistry. The postgraduate programs include a Master of Science (MSc) in Industrial Chemistry and a Master of Science (MSc) in Organic Chemistry.

1) BSc in Applied Chemistry (Honours)

The BSc in Applied Chemistry (Honours) is a three-year program that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles of chemistry. The program covers a wide range of topics, including the structure of matter, chemical bonding, chemical reactions, and analytical chemistry. Students also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the laboratory through a variety of practical courses.

 

❖ B.Sc. Applied Chemistry:

    • Program Duration: 3 years
    • Eligibility- Candidates are required to pass 12th std. with science stream having group A (Mathematics), group B (Biology) or AB (Mathematics & Biology).
    • Scope-
      • Industries: Chemical industries, Pharma industries, etc.
      • Academics: Can go for MSc Chemistry
      • Govt. Jobs.: Can apply for any govt based job recruitments.

2) BSc in Microbiology (Honours)

The microbiology department aims to cultivate a workforce of microbiologists with diverse backgrounds and perspectives, which will lead future scientific breakthroughs and positively impact global health and inculcate a better understanding about the scientific community among the students. The Microbiology Department at ITM (SLS) Baroda University is committed to advancing knowledge and understanding of microorganisms and their interactions with the environment and human health. It envisions becoming a leading center for microbiology research, education, and outreach. We strive to be renowned for our innovative research, exceptional education and training programs, and impactful contributions to the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of microbial diseases. It is dedicated to provide excellent education, research, and service to the students, faculty, and the broader scientific community.

    • Program Duration: 3 years
    • Eligibility- Candidates are required to pass 12th std. with science stream having group B (Biology) or AB (Mathematics & Biology).
    • Scope-
      • Industries: Pharmaceutical and Biotech Companies, Food and Beverage Industry, Environmental Agencies, Healthcare Industry, Agricultural Industry
      • Academics: Can go for MSc Chemistry
      • Govt. Jobs.: Can apply for any govt based job recruitments.

3) MSc in Industrial Chemistry

The MSc in Industrial Chemistry is a two-year program that provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work in the field of industrial chemistry. The program covers a wide range of topics, including chemical engineering, process design, environmental chemistry, and quality control. Students also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the laboratory through a variety of practical courses.

 

❖ M.Sc. Industrial Chemistry:

    • Program Duration: 2 years
    • Eligibility: A Candidate should have passed B.Sc. Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry / Applied Chemistry with Minimum 50% marks.
    • Scope-
      • Industries: Can choose any department of Quality control, Quality Assurance, Production, Research & Development in the chemical industries, pharmaceuticals, herbal products, petrochemicals, polymers and many more other industries.
      • Academics: Can go for higher studies

4) MSc in Organic Chemistry

The MSc in Organic Chemistry is a two-year program that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles of organic chemistry. The program covers a wide range of topics, including the structure of organic molecules, organic reactions, and organic synthesis. Students also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the laboratory through a variety of practical courses.

    • Eligibility: A Candidate should have passed B.Sc. Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry / Applied Chemistry with Minimum 50% marks
